New Release: GHOSTS & GRAVITY

An audiobook cover showing a photo of an old red brick New York apartment building windows and fire escape stairs in the 1970s. The windows reflect golden sunrise on the building. Text in white casual cursive script: Ghosts & Gravity. Other text: Anthology benefitting VETSports. Forward by Randy Tharpe

I’m thrilled that this audio project, sponsored by The Audio Flow and narrated by a stunningly talented cast, is officially launching on November 11th! GHOSTS & GRAVITY is a collection of stories that weaves together the lives and souls living in a New York apartment in the 1970s.

I’m honored to have lent my voice to two stories in the GHOSTS & GRAVITY anthology: Chrysalide and The Guardian.

Proceeds from this limited edition anthology will benefit VETSports, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Veterans with continuous opportunities to reintegrate into their communities through sports, community service, events, and partnerships.

Join us for a Clubhouse chat to celebrate the audio release with the authors, narrators, and producers on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2022 at 11am.

From the Publisher:

New York City, 1972.

Between Central Park and the East River sits an apartment building as tall as a castle and as orange as a sunset. The Wellraven barely pricks a skyline so grand, but its curious history reaches out through occupants, young and old.

Eleven stories chronicle the life and times of characters who cross paths and share destiny’s fire escape. Ghosts, gravity, romance, and secrets weave the communal narrative.

Step into the elevator. Push any button, but try to remember your way back out. Not everybody makes it.

GHOSTS & GRAVITY is available on Audible and Amazon.

The anthology includes stories by: Jennifer Locklear, Morgan Locklear, B.T. Urruela, Anne Malcom, Shani Struthers, Becca Vry, Ai Tran, D.L. Hartman, Susan K. Swords, Kris Babe, A.S. Orton, Christopher Winks, Rumer Haven

Audio was produced by The Audio Flow and narrated by a full cast: Aaron Shedlock, Amy Deuchler, Amy Landon, Andrea Emmes, Deanna Anthony, Hillary Huber, James R. Cheatham, Jocqueline M. Protho, Krys Janae, Lydia Palmer, Marnye Young, Michael Wolfe, Noya Einhorn, Teri Clarke Linden, Zachary Johnson

New Release: FINDING ALEX

FINDING ALEX, the new romantic suspense from Helen Starbuck is now on audio. This is a kidnapping thriller narrated by an all star cast that I’m overjoyed to be a part of. I’m talking Sebastian York (SebYo!), Tiffany Williams, Johnny Heller and Michael Pauley. Eeeek! And the audiobook is produced by THE amazing Joc at The Audio Flow and engineered by Dani at Elysian Nightfall Studios. You can NOT get a better combination of creatives than this.

From the Publisher:

Not Knowing Can Be Lethal

Assaulted, left for dead, and amnesic, the woman who thinks her name is Alex, may be the only surviving victim of a killer who’s targeting prostitutes and leaving their bodies without fingertips to complicate their identification. Denver Homicide Detective Blake Halloran is sure she is connected to the other killings but he can’t identify her, even with her fingertips intact. And she can’t remember anything—including the face or name of the man who tried to kill her.

With each new victim, it becomes more crucial for Alex to remember what happened to her if Blake and his partner are to solve the murders, but how do you force someone to remember? As Blake’s strong attraction to her and his need to protect her grows, so does his uneasiness about the inability to identify her, whether she’s a villain or a victim, and whether her amnesia is real.

FINDING ALEX is available on Audible, Amazon and (soon) Apple Books.

2021 IAA Finalist: Best Mystery

I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ve been chosen as finalist in the 2021 Independent Audiobook Awards!

LEGACY OF SECRETS by Helen Starbuck was selected as a finalist for Best Mystery. This title was produced by The Audio Flow and engineered by Elysian Nightfall Studios, and they both did an amazing job.

From the Publisher: Kate Earnshaw’s father’s suicide has left many unanswered questions. The police declared it a suicide, but she can’t bring herself to believe it. The more she discovers, however, the more Kate wonders whether she ever really knew him. Her father never explained why he let his childhood home in eastern Colorado fall into ruin or why he kept the property a secret. And he never told Kate about his close friendship with Evan Hastings, the handsome and somewhat puzzling man who lives on the property near the abandoned house.

Other families pass down their stories. The Earnshaws pass down painful riddles without answers. Kate comes from a family where unspoken secrets disappear from one generation to the next. Evan seems to have as many secrets as her father and to know more about him than she did, which hurts. But there’s something about Evan that calls her back to her father’s home. Something that threatens to unbury more than the past.

Congratulations also to the other finalists in the Best Mystery category:

  • BLUE HILL written by G. Wayne Miller, narrrated by J. Kawamoto – produced by Crossroads Press
  • DIVER’S PARADISE (A Roscoe Conklin Mystery, Book 1) written by Davin Goodwin, narrrated by Alan Carlson
  • THE POIROT COLLECTION: Books 1-3 – The Mysterious Affair at Styles, The Murder on the Links, Poirot Investigates written by Agatha Christie, narrrated by P.J. Ochlan – produced by Lepton Films, LLC
  • THE WIFE LIE written by Anya Mora, narrrated by Jennifer Jill Araya – produced by Vibrance Press

I’m honored to be among this group of narrators. I can barely stand to wait for the winners to be announced at the awards ceremony on June 25th, 2021.

Check out the 2021 IAA finalists in the other categories and, if you can, give them a listen.
