New Release: RAVEN’S SPHERE

It’s here! The audiobook for RAVEN’S SPHERE by Melissa Koberlein released over the weekend, and starfire, am I excited!

Thanks to Melissa for letting me tell Raven’s story. I (and my nips, bits and all) had a blast narrating this book. We laughed and cried (a little), which is a narrator’s dream come true.

New Release: AT WITS’ END

So excited this cozy mystery has released!

AT WITS’ END (Doyle Cozy Mystery, Wits’ End book 1) by Kirsten Weiss is a cozy mystery that’s out of this world. . . Men in Black. Conspiracy-crazed old ladies. Can a clueless innkeeper catch a killer…and stick to her carefully crafted schedule?

I really love narrating cozy mysteries and this one did not disappoint. AT WITS’ END is full of side smirks and guffaws. Trust me. I did a few retakes on this due to giggles.

Full disclosure: The feeling of connection to the main character was palpable. My sister’s name is Susan, I am a control freak complete with extensive checklists in my bullet journal, and I love Victorian B&B’s. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, though I do deal with some of them on a regular basis.  Unfortunately, I do not have a faux-UFO built into my house’s roof.

Thank you to Joc and Dani at The Audio Flow and to author Kirsten Weiss for trusting me to tell this hilarious story.

Listen to a sample:

From the publisher:

When control-freak Susan Witsend inherits her grandmother’s UFO-themed B&B, she’s ready to put her organizational skills to the test. She knows she can make the B&B work, even if there is a faux-UFO in the roof. After all, what’s not to love about a Victorian nestled in the high Sierra foothills?

None of her carefully crafted policies and procedures, however, can prepare her for a corpse in room seven – the body of her small-town sheriff’s ex-husband. Good thing Susan has her own plans to solve the crime.

But is there a government conspiracy afoot? Or is the murder a simple case of small-town vengeance?

Susan must keep all her wits about her. Because the killer isn’t finished, and if she isn’t careful, her fate may be written in the stars….

Beam up this hilarious cozy mystery today!

AT WITS’ END is available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes.

New Release: REDEMPTION

I’m excited to announce a new audiobook release in the thriller and suspense genres: REDEMPTION by Stephanie Baldi.

I met Stephanie in Atlanta at the Atlanta Writer’s Club meeting held in February, where I spoke about all-things-audiobooks. We had a lovely dinner together and talked all about life and creating the audiobook for her first novel, REDEMPTION. Back then it was just in the beginning stages of narration, and now it’s complete! I hope I did it justice!

From the Publisher:

Murder is the catalyst pushing Carrie Overton headlong into the arms of the hitman sent to kill her.

Determined to escape her alcoholic and drug-addicted mother and distance herself from the memory of the son she lost, Carrie leaves home with Travis Montgomery, a man twenty years her senior who harbours shocking secrets connected to her past.

After Travis forces her to help him steal two million dollars from a drug lord, leaving two people dead, Carrie decides to add a third victim to her list, and Travis is left lying on the floor.

Eager to start over, she takes the stolen money and travels to the small mountain town of Laurel, Pennsylvania. Carrie lies about her past and relaxes into her new life. Before long, Carrie’s lies are piling up, and her crimes are about to catch up to her.

Nicholas D’Angelo is known as a ghost, a contract killer for one of the biggest drug lords in Miami. His assignment is simple. Find the people, who stole the two million dollars, recover the money and eliminate them.

With a hitman on her trail, Carrie is forced to make a choice. Trust the hitman who vows to disobey his orders and protect her. Or stay in Laurel and face the drug lord determined to end her life. Either one might kill her.

REDEMPTION is available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes.

New Release: CABIN 2

Another romantic suspense is ready for your listening pleasure. 😉

Happy release day of CABIN 2 (Steele Shadows Security Book 2) by the amazing Amanda McKinney is now available on audio! Thanks to dual narration partner Michael Reid for making us sound awesome.

Enjoy!

From the publisher:

From best-selling and multi-award-winning romantic suspense author Amanda McKinney comes the second book in the steamy, edge-of-your-seat, three-part series Steele Shadows Security.

Hidden deep in the remote mountains of Berry Springs is a private security firm where some go to escape, and others find exactly what they’ve been looking for. Welcome to cabin one, cabin two, cabin three.

Always be prepared – that was Axel Steele’s motto. While his brothers were throwing down at the local bar, Ax was the guy in the background devising the getaway plan. Dubbed “the smart one”, the former special-ops Marine believed in structure and routine, a way of life the universe seemed hellbent on challenging.

Amidst a firestorm of family drama, Ax finds a woman held captive in the middle of the woods and in desperate need of his help. With an armful of tattoos as colorful as her attitude, his new client is his antithesis – a free-spirited, spontaneous hippie who tests every bit of his patience…and his self-restraint.

Erika Zajac has been living life on her own terms since she was just 16. But her gypsy lifestyle came to a screeching halt when the horrific past she’d tried so hard to bury came back in the form of chains and cuffs.

Suddenly, Erika finds herself under the security – and scrutiny – of a temperamental bodyguard with the emotional capacity of a rock and a six-pack to match. But no amount of brains or brawn was going to distract her from her goal or the secrets she’d kill to keep.

Deceit, lies, wrath. Ax’s client had them all. The only question was, which of Erika’s deadly sins would she choose? Revenge…or him?

The audiobook for CABIN 2 is available exclusively on Audible, Amazon and iTunes.

New Release: HOMESPUN

I’m so excited that the audiobook for HOMESPUN by Magnolia Robbins has released! HOMESPUN is an enemies to lovers, rich girl/poor girl novel is a modern twist of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

I fell in love with Charlotte and Marlow so fast, and so much so that while proofing the audio, the proofer found a few instances where I combined their names during narration. This cracked me up when I listened back to hear myself say “Marlotte said” or “Charlow looked at her.”

I hope you enjoy listening to their story as much as I did narrating it.

From the publisher:

No Miller could ever love a Livingston.

Charlotte Livingston’s perfect little life was over.

She swore she would never work at the bourbon distillery with her last name on it. That she would never be a part of her family’s legacy. But when her posh, cozy world went up in flames, she was forced to return to her small hometown of Bardstown, Kentucky, and face a bitter truth. That she was stuck there, working in the family business, whether she liked it or not.

And it wasn’t that bad. Until Charlotte realized that her boss was Marlow Miller.

Marlow and Charlotte are exact opposites in every imaginable way, yet Charlotte can’t seem to get enough of the sexy-southern-as-you-could-get-woman. But the problem is, Marlow doesn’t want anything to do with her. Everyone in Bardstown knew that the Millers and the Livingstons had been at war for decades, and for good reason.

And if her parents found out she was falling hard and fast for a Miller woman, her life might actually be over.

And Marlow’s would be, too.

This enemies to lovers, rich girl/poor girl novel is a modern twist of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

HOMESPUN is available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes.

Guest on INDIE CHICKS Podcast

Today I’d like to celebrate women in the publishing industry.

I’m talking about writers, publishers, editors, narrators. . .you name it. And if you’re not currently published, but you would like to be, or if you are but would like additional help or ideas on things like editing or marketing, a great resource to help with that is the Indie Chicks, created by Melissa Koberlein, author and professor of publishing.

As part of their resource offerings, the Indie Chicks have a podcast, co-hosted by Melissa Koberlein and editor Jeni Chappelle. I was so delighted when the Indie Chicks invited me on their podcast in June to talk about the joys of narrating audiobooks!

In the podcast episode, we discussed advice Melissa and I have about making an audiobook, and dished a bit about the upcoming audiobook for Raven’s Sphere, Melissa’s science fiction adventure novel full of snarky bits.

I hope you can take a listen to the podcast on Narrating Audiobooks. If you’re unable to listen, you can get a shortened version by reading the blog Q&A.

Enjoy!

New Release: FALLING: ADALTA VOL III

I’m over the moon with joy to announce that FALLING: ADALTA VOL III by amazing storyteller Sherrill Nilson is now available!

When I saw this up for audition, the cover intrigued me so much, I had to investigate further. Failing spaceships, an alien who threatens to take over the world, and horses with bird heads and wings that bond with their riders?? Who wouldn’t want to narrate this?

I was thrilled when Sherrill awarded me the opportunity to narrate this story.

FALLING is the third book in the series (the first two narrated by the amazing Natalie Naudus), and I hope my voice did justice for Daryl and Cedar’s story (and the rest of Adalta’s, for that matter).

I hope you like it as much as I did!

From the publisher:

Daryl Me’Vere faces battle on two fronts. He must face the facts of his brother Readen’s evil and treacherous attempts to rip Restal Quadrant from Daryl’s control. And he must rid the planet of the alien Itza Larrak—the alien everyone but Daryl suspects is his brother’s ally—the alien that threatens to bring others of its kind to strip Adalta of all life and energy.

And, if that isn’t enough––the spaceship hovering above is falling––Adalta is destroying it.

Young, scrappy Cedar Evans is appointed to help settle the dying ship’s refugees in Daryl’s quadrant. How will these high tech people go from a life surrounded by the safety of their ship’s walls to life on a wide open primitive world with elemental magic they can’t believe in?

As bio-systems expert, there’s nothing Cedar doesn’t know about the ship, so she knows that as the ship fails, so will her bionic leg. The leg she’s had since she was a child will not work on the planet. It’s useless—she can’t repair it; she can’t get rid of it, but she can’t let it hold her back.

Wars on two fronts, thousands of refugees to settle––how can Cedar, from the failing space ship above, possibly help Daryl? Especially when he feels he has to protect her. She can’t fight. She has a non-working prosthetic leg. She’s defenseless—he thinks.

He’s wrong.

FALLING is available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes.

Featured Narrator: SUCH A VOICE Blog

Let me share a little story.

Way back in 2016, I was searching for something to soothe my inner angst. I didn’t know what exactly was going on at the time, but I thought taking my mind off of the angst with something new but close to my roots (theatre, and acting, of course) would help. So I signed up for a 2 hour “Intro to Voiceover” class hosted by Such a Voice at my local community college (shout out to community colleges!).

Fast forward almost 4 years, and I’m a full-time audiobook narrator being featured on the Such A Voice Talent Spotlight blog, offering advice to others who may want to start a similar journey.

I’m so grateful for everyone who has helped me on the way. This industry is one of the best for lifting people up, offering help, being transparent, and let’s not forget: FUN.

Thank you to Roth Bernstein at Such A Voice for asking me to share my story.

A story, indeed.
